HONG KONG – Star Cruises has launched its strategic redeployment program since last year in line with the progressive development of the Greater China market. Following the last deployment of SuperStar Libra to Hong Kong for destination cruise last October, the latest arrangement is the introduction of SuperStar Virgo, the largest ship in its Asian fleet to Hong Kong in April to bring along new and exciting experience to the customers. The full range facility of SuperStar Virgo provides a “destination” by itself. The deployment of the cruise ship to Hong Kong indicates the Company’s determination and emphasis in the Greater China market and the move will strengthen its development in the region. It also helps to uplift Hong Kong’s market significance as an international cruise centre.
SuperStar Virgo’s seasonal deployment program will see her depart from Singapore on March 28 to Hong Kong until October 26. The cruiser will call at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Sanya in China on March 30 and April 1 respectively prior to its arrival in Hong Kong on April 2. SuperStar Virgo’s inaugural cruise season will comprise of destination cruises to Xiamen and Sanya in China and Halong Bay in Vietnam. There will also be four special cruises to Keelung, Taiwan in April, June, July and September.
Currently, SuperStar Aquarius, SuperStar Libra and Star Pisces are home-ported in Hong Kong. The seasonal deployment program will see SuperStar Aquarius leaving Hong Kong on March 24 for Singapore and return on October 28 while SuperStar Libra will be deployed to Taiwan on March 26 until November 1, 2008.
